Photo or Art? - Signs & More, Inc

Have you ever looked at a picture and asked “Is that a photo or a painting”?  With today’s Photoshop and other editing programs, anything is possible to create the illusion the artist wants to portray.  Today’s graphic designer has many more tools at his/her disposal than ever before.

Many times we have clients who want photos of themselves, a favorite landscape or building to be applied to their vehicle or to be used as part of their logo.  Once we get the photo, the sky may be grey and cloudy, the client’s skin tone may seem washed out or the landscape may be browned out instead of a beautiful green.

With the many options the designers/artists have to manipulate the pictures, the artists are able to alter pictures to create much better images than the camera can create, even on the best of days or lighting with a professional photographer.  They have the ability to create a sky with fluffy clouds and sunshine.  They can take the wrinkles from your face better than the most expensive creams.  They can produce a gorgeous green pasture out of a desert.

With this ability to change the art or photo to best portray what the customer is looking for, no photo or art is incorrect.  The only potential problem is if a photo is taken with a very low resolution, it may not be good enough to expand into a large sign or vehicle side.
