To continue our series we will look at some other recommendations when selecting signage for your business.

  1. Choose Your Words Carefully
    • If you want your signs to describe your business, be sure to get across the point and tone.  Read your proofs or draft signs aloud to your friends and ask how they sound.
    • Are you getting your point across?   Are you emphasizing the right thing – the thing you want to see most?
  2. Don’t Clash
    • Sometimes it’s not good to “stick out” too much from the rest of your surrounding business neighbors.  If you are distracting, the human eye tends to skip over this image rather than “home in” on it.
    • Make your signs consistent with the aesthetics of your store and building.  This will build a stronger brand in your product.
  3. Stay in Character
    • If your store is “fun,” make sure your signs carry that fun tone and message.
    • If your store is “serious,” carry a serious tone.
    • Same thing for “fancy,” “hole in the wall,” “elegant,” etc.
    • What are your COLORS?  Carry them forward with your signage.
