What Signs do you NEED? Signs & More, Inc.

As a new business, you know you need a sign to get your image in front of your customers. You will want an overhead sign to be seen at a distance, but what about the other signs. What other signs? Let us tell you.

You will need cut vinyl on your door telling everyone when you will be open/closed. You can also place your logo, phone number, website or any other information on your store front windows. If you have an awning, this is another great place for your name or just your logo.

What about the inside of your business? If you have a lobby, the wall behind the receptionist can be a perfect location for your logo or if you do not have a receptionist, any open wall area in the lobby works. Restaurants may want to promote your daily specials with an eraser board sign or an A-Frame sign placed outside on the sidewalk. And you can display your food or menu items on foam board signs well placed in the restaurant.

I have a friend who is an electrician. His office/shop is located in a warehouse district. You may think he would not need to have any signs inside his location because his work is always at his customer’s place. He occasionally has customers visit him. He has placed signs around his location of the name brand electrical items he uses (since he is proud to use the best brands). Due to local, state and federal laws he is required to have many safety signs easily readable.

What about your church? Is the location of all the different rooms easily found or do you need directory signs? My church layout is backward from most churches. When you go in the front door, the stairs take you immediately to the alter area of the sanctuary. You should first go down a hallway in order to go up stairs that take you into the narthex/greeting area. We definitely need directional signs.  And what about dedication plaques? Are the rooms, drapes, pews or podiums clearly marked giving credit to the inspired donor? Another necessary sign is an exit route sign in case of fire.
